About the Authors

Damon Chandler has been programming computers ever since he received his first $1700 XT back in the 80's. He currently develops image processing and graphics-based applications for both Windows and X Windows. Damon holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering and a M.Eng in Electrical Engineering. He is working in the Visual Communications Lab at Cornell University, where his research focuses on new medical image compression algorithms. On his days off, Damon can be found on either the ski slopes or the golf course. Damon currently resides in Ithaca, NY.

Michael Fötsch gained his first programming experience when writing text adventures in BASIC at the age of 13. He used to program for VGA and SVGA graphics cards under MS-DOS before he made friends with DirectX and 32-bit Windows. He currently develops graphics and multimedia applications for Windows and DirectX. When he doesn't work with computers (which does happen) he enjoys reading German stage-plays from the 18th and 19th centuries. Michael lives in Graz, Austria.
